Harbinger
I no longer yield to
life’s uncertainties, though I
am challenged
by shifting pathways,
my primal algorithms
altered at the speed
of hummingbird
wings
until I seek sanctuary.
Plunged into hallowed
woodlands where stalwart
trees shroud my dreams
in secrecy.
Untouched by wrathful
tides threatening the affairs
of mortals, ushered in by
the harbinger’s gaze
of a blue-eyed albatross,
soaring far above our chaos.
